SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Parts of South Kingstown have been placed under a mandatory odd-even water ban to help combat increased summer water demand. South Kingstown SUEZ, South Shore and Middlebridge customers are all included in the ban, which limits water usage on alternating days.

Under an odd-even ban, residents with odd-numbered street addresses can water their lawns, wash their cars and otherwise use water outside on odd-numbered days, while even-numbered addresses can do the same only on even-numbered days.

The Kingston water district, which includes the University of Rhode Island campus, as well as private well users are exempt from the ban.
