More COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Coming For South County Site
About 1,000 appointments will be added for Monday at the Schneider Electric vaccination site.

WEST KINGSTON, RI — Around 1,000 new coronavirus vaccine appointments will be added to Rhode Island's state-run scheduling portal Saturday, the Department of Health said. The new slots are in addition to the approximately 9,000 appointments released Friday evening.
The new slots are all for Monday at the new site at Schneider Electric on Fairgrounds Road in West Kingston, the department said. Appointments will be added to the state's vaccine portal starting at 5 p.m.
Under the state's current eligibility, Rhode Islanders aged 60 and older, as well as those aged 16 to 64 with certain underlying health conditions, can get an appointment. The Department of Health's new, accelerated schedule projects that the 50 to 59 age group will open up April 5, followed by 40 to 49 years old on April 12. Eligibility is set to open to all Rhode Islanders aged 16 and up on April 19.
