Narragansett Holding Additional Rabies Clinic

The November 9 clinic was scheduled after a skunk tested positive for rabies in October.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — South County pet owners have another chance to vaccinate their pets against rabies next weekend. Narragansett Animal Control scheduled the additional clinic after a skunk tested positive for the disease in October.

The clinic will be held on Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Narragansett Community Center on Mumford Road. Dogs, cats and ferrets can be vaccinated for $10 each, cash only. Pet owners are encouraged to bring previous vaccination records, if they have them. Dogs should be leashed, while cats and ferrets should be in carriers.

The additional clinic was scheduled after a skunk tested positive for rabies on October, the third confirmed case in Narragansett since February.
