Narragansett Library accepting donations for September Book Sale
Donations of books and media will be accepted Aug. 14-Sept. 9.

The Narragansett Library Book Sale is fast approaching. The Friends of the Library are asking the community for donations of books and media beginning Wednesday, August 14. Drop off your items and help support the library in this fun and important fundraiser.
The sale will take place Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 12-14, to coincide with the weekend Gansett Days festivities. The sale opens with a preview night for Friends of the Library on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5-8 p.m. New members can sign up at the door for a small fee. The sale opens to the public Friday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The success of the book sale depends on the local community, which helps supply the sale with donations and then comes out to purchase books and support this fundraiser. Donations will be accepted August 14 through September 9. Books in good condition, audio books on CD, music CDs and DVDs can be dropped off at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library at 35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett, during open hours. No encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines or VHS tapes will be accepted. Items that are moldy or dusty cannot be accepted. Boxes should not be left outside during closed hours. The end date for donations is Monday, September 9.
