Narragansett Police Log: December 3, 4, 5 and 6, 2012

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Five Arrests Between Four Men for Fighting, Disorderly Conduct Over Ex-Girlfriend / Girlfriend

Julio C. Vasquez, 21, of 55 Hope Lane, Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:09 a.m. on Dec. 6 and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Vasquez is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, they received a report of a fight at Pancho O’Malleys. Police said that the victim – a 19-year-old man – and a bouncer at the bar both identified Vasquez as the primary aggressor.

Police said that according to the bouncer and the victim, Vasquez was not happy with the 19-year-old because he was with Vasquez’s ex-girlfriend.

According to police, Vasquez claimed that the woman was his girlfriend, and he and a friend claimed that they had just argued with the victim, and not assaulted him.

At this point, police arrested Vasquez. He was processed and then released at some point after 12:18 a.m. Police said he was given a ride to his home.

However, at about 2:28 a.m., police received a report of Vasquez and three other men harassing the occupants of a home on Bayberry Hill Road, where the same woman from the earlier incident lived.

According to police, the other men involved were all URI students, and identified as:

• Chadd G. Rampini, 21, of 55 Hope Lane, Narragansett
• Brandon M. Parillo, 21, of 55 Hope Lane, Narragansett
• Brian W. Keane, 19, of 11 Fraternity Circle, Kingston

All three were charged with disorderly conduct and assault. Vasquez was charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Police said that based on witness statements, Vasquez came to the home to see if the woman was with the man he had assaulted earlier in the night. Police said the woman and the man were together at the home.

According to two housemates of the woman, Vasquez shoved her and angrily confronted her and the man on two separate occasions, about 10 minutes apart. The housemates and the male victim said that Rampini, Parillo and Keane assaulted him while Vasquez spoke to the woman.

Police said that based on the interviews, all four were arrested. Police noted that the female victim in the case was uncooperative, and while trying to obtain a statement from her, she was calling other friends and telling them to refuse to cooperate with police.

Following his second arrest, Vasquez was held for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court on Thursday morning. Rampini, Parillo and Keane were processed and then released at about 7 a.m.

Narragansett Man Charged With License Violations

Benjamin Lindley, 24, of 29 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, was arrested at about 7:39 p.m. on Dec. 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer familiar with Lindley from past arrests saw him driving a brown Jeep SUV on Boston Neck Road near Anawan Cliff. A traffic stop was made near West Bay Drive after the officer confirmed with a dispatcher that Lindley’s license was suspended.

Police said Lindley was arrested without incident, processed and then released at about 8:15 p.m. A passenger drove the Jeep from the scene.

East Providence Woman Cited for License Violation

Jennifer M. Bradstreet, 34, of 7 Whelden Ave., East Providence, was cited at about 7:46 p.m. on Dec. 5 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer traveling behind Bradstreet’s car on Point Judith Road near Wandsworth Street noted that it had a defective plate light. A traffic stop was made near Old Point Judith Road.

Police said a background check revealed that Bradstreet’s license was suspended on Nov. 28. As a result, she was cited for the violation, as well as for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The car was towed from the scene.
