Narragansett Police Log: January 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2013

Police issue two nuisance stickers to homes, and arrest a South Kingstown man for a warrant.

South Kingstown Man Arrested for Warrant

James E. Hammar, 39, of 80 Samuel Rodman St., Apt. #217, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:04 p.m. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Hammar’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing.

According to police, Hammar filed a complaint about receiving harassing text messages and calls from an unknown woman. However, police said that when they reviewed the messages on Hammar’s phone, he was actively participating in the conversation, which was not harassing in nature.

Additionally, police said a routine background check of Hammar revealed the warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested without incident and transported to the ACI at 11:35 p.m.

Nuisance Sticker Issued to 11 Cavalier Avenue…

At about 11 a.m. on Jan. 7, police issued a nuisance sticker to the exterior of 11 Cavalier Avenue. Police said none of the tenants were home at the time.

According to police, the sticker was issued after a review of a party with more than 200 people on Dec. 20. For details, click here.

At about 10:25 a.m. on Jan. 7, police issued a nuisance sticker to the exterior of 118 Rodman Street. Police said none of the tenants were home at the time.
