Narragansett Police Log: October 27, 2012

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Narragansett Man Charged With Drunken Driving Second Offense

Isiah Wilson Green, 53, of 145 Boon St., Apt. #3, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:50 p.m. on Oct. 27 and charged with drunken driving second offense.

According to police, a caller told them that a car was swerving near the Dunes Club on Boston Neck Road. The caller provided police with the registration information for the car.

Police said they saw the car stopped at the end of a home’s driveway on Boston Neck Rock, in the breakdown lane. An officer noted that the driver – Green – appeared to be passed out in the driver’s side, with the car still in drive.

According to police, the responding officer put the car into park, at which point Green woke up. Police said Green was very confused and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Police asked Green to submit to field sobriety tests, to which he said, “Sure boss, no problem, I just want to go home.” Police said Green failed field sobriety tests, at which point he was arrested.

According to police, Green consented to chemical breath tests at headquarters. Police said Green’s blood alcohol level tests at .280 at about 5:21 p.m. and .276 at about 5:24 p.m.

Police said that at about 6:10 p.m., they made contact with the original witness, who provided them with a written statement.

Narragansett Man Charged With License Violation

Frederick P. Cindrich, 25, of 67 Caswell St., Apt. #A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:22 p.m. on Oct. 27 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer clocked a dark-colored Volkswagen at 54 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Point Judith Road near Terra Drive. A traffic stop was made near the Galilee Escape Road.

Police said a background check of the driver – Cindrich – revealed that his license was suspended on Sept. 12 for failing to appear at a court hearing.

According to police, Cindrich was arrested without incident as a result. He was also issued a warning for speeding. He was processed at headquarters and then released at about 10:12 p.m.

Warrant Arrests

- Gene J. Hemingway, 49, of 21 Division St., Apt. #4, East Greenwich, was arrested at about 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 27. Police said a Third Division District Court warrant was out for Hemingway’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing on Sept. 12 related to an East Greenwich police charge of driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer driving behind a Dodge Neon on Point Judith Road near Sunset Farm noted that the rear license plate was obscured. As a result, a traffic stop was made near Westlakes Garage.

Police said a background check of the driver – Hemingway – revealed the warrant. He was arrested without incident, processed at headquarters and then released at about 2:20 p.m.

- Brett L. Feldman, 45, of 151 Ocean Road, Apt. #25, Narragansett, was arrested at about 3:26 p.m. on Oct. 27. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Feldman’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing related to a Narragansett police charge of domestic assault.

According to police, they went to Feldman’s home in an attempt to locate him, because of the warrant. He was arrested without incident, processed at headquarters and then released at about 4 p.m.

Loud Parties

- At about 12:55 a.m. on Oct. 27, police received a report of a loud party at 63 Kingstown Road.

According to police, about 80 people were at the house, with loud yelling clearly audible from outside. Police said the tenants were very slow at clearing the party and refused to sign the town noise ordinance.

The tenants were identified as John D. Biamonte and John P. Ribeiro, 21, and Joshua D. Sideman, 22.

- At about 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, police received a report of a loud party at 2 Summit Road.

According to police, about 100 to 130 people were at the party, with many spilled out into the yard and the street as a result. Police said six cars were illegally parked in the area, and a fight nearly broke out as they arrived.

Police said the tenants were uncooperative, and refused to clear the house, claiming that 30 people were sleeping over. The tenants told police that they had called 911 about the potential fight, but police noted that 911 had logged no call, and that they were called to the scene by two different neighbors.

The tenants were identified as Brian M. Duchesne, 21, and Christopher B. Distefano and Nicholas J. Famiglietti, 20.
