Obituary: Joan Alexander (Waterman) 83,

Joan Alexander (Waterman), 83, of Wakefield passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born in Boston, MA and raised in Cranston she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia (Ward) Waterman and the twin sister of the late Anne Bowen.

Joan was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She worked initially as a public school teacher and then later in retail banking. After many years of living in the San Francisco Bay Area she retired in Rhode Island where she enjoyed the company of her family and friends, reading, the Red Sox and playing Bridge.

She is survived by her son, Eric Alexander of San Francisco; her sister Nancy Hindle and her husband Don of Narragansett; and two nephews, Jeffrey Hindle of Warwick and Gregory Hindle of North Kingstown.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Private burial will proceed the service in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
