Thomas Anthony Monahan Jr., 75, of Narragansett, died Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was the husband of Ruth (Laramee) Monahan.

MONAHAN, Thomas Anthony Jr., 75, of Narragansett, died Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was the husband of Ruth (Laramee) Monahan. Tom grew up in Providence, a son of the late Thomas Anthony and Helen Regan Monahan where he attended La Salle Academy and Providence College, graduating in 1962.
He worked for Providence Body Company, Wellington Avenue, Cranston, a family operated business founded in 1875. He also worked for Budlong Manufacturing Company, Cranston, RI. In 2005 after 16 years of dedicated service, Tom retired from MetLife. Away from his work, Tom spent his time boating and fishing with friends and family.
He was the devoted father of Elizabeth Monahan Carley of East Greenwich and Thomas A. Monahan, III of Hermosa Beach, CA. Tom’s grandsons, T.J. Carley and Patrick Carley were the joy of his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Care New England (CNE Philanthropy Department), 101 Dudley St. Providence, RI 02905.
