Ocean State Job Lot Donates 12 Bicycles To Narragansett Police
The bikes will allow officers to access places vehicles cannot and better interact with the community, the department said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — The Narragansett Police Department received a dozen new, electric bicycles to help with fair weather patrols, courtesy of Ocean State Job Lot. The 12 GenZe E222B electric bikes were valued at $1,300 each.
The bikes will be used to allow officers to better interact with the public around the Pier, said Narragansett Police Captain Kyle Rekas said, calling them "a great policing tool."
"The Narragansett Police Department always appreciates Ocean State Job Lot’s continued support of local law enforcement," Rekas said. "[The bikes] also allow officers to get places that patrol cars can’t and will be very useful at some of our crowded summer events such as the Narragansett Lions Blessing of the Fleet Road Race and the RI Philharmonic Concert on the Beach."

The company also recently donated 14 electric bicycles to officers on Block Island, and plans to do the same in Jamestown in the coming weeks.
"Ocean State Job Lot is deeply committed to assisting our local communities in a variety of ways," said David Sarlitto the executive director of the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation. "We appreciate our first responders and hope the electric bicycles will assist in their community safety programs and will also cut down on the number of vehicles on the roadways in these busy summer tourism destinations."
