Ocean State Job Lots Open In 2 Former Benny's Stores
One iconic Rhode Island retailer has replaced another.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — One iconic local retailer has taken the place of another in two Rhode Island cities. Ocean State Job Lot officially opened two new stores in Wakefield and Cranston in the shadow of another well-known name: Benny's.
The two stores, located at 148 Atwood Ave. in Cranston and 688 Kingstown Rd. in Wakefield, celebrated simultaneous grand openings on Saturday.
During Cranston's grand opening, Mayor Allan Fung, members of the City Council and Job Lot executives presented a $500 check to The Jaxon Marocco Foundation from the company's charitable foundation.

"At Ocean State Job Lot, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the communities in which we operate," said David Sarlitto, Executive Director, Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation. "We're excited about our continued relationship with the City of Cranston, and we're looking forward to being part of its success."
The Wakefield location is just a store's throw from the previous Ocean State Job Lot Store, which had begun to show its age. The larger Benny's store allows the company more room for stock in an airier building.
