Police (Finally) Arrest Man on Check Charges
According to police, it takes multiple attempts over the course of a month to arrest and charge Adam Finn, 39, with writing a bad check. Narragansett police logs from April 15 and April 16, 2013.

Hard to Reach North Smithfield Man Charged With Writing Fraudulent Checks
Adam R. Finn, 39, with a last known address of 116 North Main St., North Smithfield, was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. on April 16 and charged with writing fraudulent checks.

According to police, on March 21 town staff told them that an $85 check written by Finn, at that time living on Indian Trail Road, had bounced. Additional attempts by the town to make contact with Finn were ineffective.
Police said that on March 22, they left a voicemail on Finn’s cell phone asking him to call the department. Police said that they didn’t receive a callback by 9 a.m. on March 23.

As a result, police said they asked three departments in Massachusetts and one department in South Carolina to check residences for Finn, based on previous addresses on file for him.
According to police, all four addresses were negative for Finn, with family members at one address telling officers that they had moved to specifically avoid further contact from Finn.
Police said that Finn finally called a dispatcher on the night of March 23 and said he would make payment by March 25. Police said Finn was called against on March 27 when the town still hadn’t received payment, and Finn told the officer he would pay on March 28.
According to police, Finn hadn’t paid as of April 2, and a warrant was issued for his arrest as a result.
Police said that on April 16, Newport police arrested Finn in their city for the Narragansett warrant. Police said he was picked up from Newport at about 10:56 a.m., processed at headquarters and then transferred to Fourth Division District Court for arraignment.
Narragansett Man Charged With License, Driving Violations
Brandon T. Tully, 42, of 29 Hills Parkway, Apt. #1, Narragansett, was arrested at about 2:15 a.m. on April 15 and charged with driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road near Mariner Square clocked a green Ford F-150 driving at 64 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near the Shell station.
Police said a background check of the driver – Tully – revealed that his license had been suspended on Feb. 28 for failing to complete driver training.
According to police, Tully was arrested, processed at headquarters and then released at about 4:30 a.m. He was also cited for speeding and operation of an unregistered vehicle.
