Prizewinners Announced: South County Tourism Council’s Annual Photo Contest

The wine & cheese reception is Aug. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the South County Museum.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI - From South County, Rhode Island: South County Tourism Council will announce the winners of our 16th Annual South County Photo Contest on Thursday, August 24. Join us for a wine and cheese reception from 6 – 7:30 PM at the South County Museum.

Cash prizes totaling approximately $2000 will be awarded to the winners for first, second, third place and two runner ups for each category, “People at Play” and “A Beautiful Place. Renowned wedding and portrait photographer Susan Sancomb of Sancomb Photography (www.sancombphotography.com) will return as the judge this year. She will be at the reception to offer tips and critique. Sancomb studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and received her master degree at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

The photo contest is open to residents and visitors alike, the only requisite of the contest is that the photos are of South County – Charlestown, Coventry, East Greenwich, Exeter, Hopkinton, Narragansett, North Kingstown, Richmond, South Kingstown, West Greenwich or Westerly.
