The Mariners are in the cellar of the Division III-A rankings, with a 1-6 record, but they could gain some ground in the standings on Ponaganset High (2-5) and the North Smithfield/Mt. Charles Co-op (2-5), if Narragansett wins and they both lose.

In any case, the Thanksgiving holiday game sometimes launches a team on a new start. And this time, the varsity has something extra to prove. The Junior Varsity has defeated Chariho in the JV Turkey Bowl, and they whipped 'em 18-6.
