A Regular Summer In RI: State Beaches To Open In May
Rhode Island state beaches will open without any capacity restrictions this summer, Gov. Dan McKee said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Rhode Island is getting ready for a return to some semblance of normalcy this summer, as more and more residents get vaccinated and coronavirus cases trend down across the state. One sure sign of summer in the Ocean State: state beaches are set to open for the season in just a few weeks.
Scarborough Beach North and Roger Wheeler State Beach will open May 15, Gov. Dan McKee said, with all state beaches set to open by Memorial Day Weekend.
Unlike last summer, state beaches will operate at full capacity this summer, McKee said, though masks will be required in busy areas such as concession stands.
