RI Flood Watch: Nor'Easter Now Expected To Make Rain & Snow
Coventry's snow totals are dialed back to 4-5 inches. Newport and Narragansett are under a wind advisory Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A flood watch has been issued for all of Rhode Island, the National Weather Service said. It starts Wednesday morning and lasts through Thursday afternoon. This means that the nor'easter will bring mostly rain and wind, especially at the coast, although the northwest corner of the state will also see a lot of snow. Woonsocket, for example, could collect seven or eight inches before the precipitation goes over to rain.
Woonsocket, Smithfield and the northwest corner of Rhode Island are still expected to see a significant snowfall, while Cranston and Narragansett could get 2 to 4 inches.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...
The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a
* Flood Watch for Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts.
* From Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon.
* Rain is expected to overspread the region Wednesday morning. The
rain will become heavy at times Wednesday afternoon into the
evening before diminishing in intensity. While the rain may
change to a brief period of snow for a time late Wednesday
afternoon and early evening especially in the hills of northwest
Rhode Island...the majority of what falls is expected to be
rain.
* A quick 1 to 2 inches of rain is anticipated across the region
Wednesday afternoon and evening. The bulk of this rain will fall
within a 6 hour period and may result in some renewed river and
stream flooding. There may also be some urban and poor drainage
street flooding issues given the heaviest rain will coincide
with the Wednesday evening rush hour.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
