Here's your complete guide to Fourth of July fireworks shows, parades and other festive events in and around Rhode Island's Patch towns.

NARRAGANSETT, RI—Woonsocket has postponed its fireworks due to thunderstorms in the forecast. Otherwise, the weather is predicted to be nothing short of sizzling in Rhode Island. But by dusk, the air should be pleasant for a trip outside. Rhode Island has a slew of Independence Day celebrations. Even if your city or town isn't holding an event, there's certainly one nearby. Here is a list of fireworks, parades and other celebrations in the Patch cities and towns. Please click on the link for details.

East Providence will celebrate Independence Day on July 3. A free concert and fireworks is at Pierce Stadium, 201 Mercer St. (Rain date is July 5 at 9 p.m.). The gates open at 6 p.m. Kicking Hole & Crushed Velvet perform in concert first, and then it's time for the fireworks. They should start around 9 p.m.
No pets will be allowed. For more information, click here or call the recreation department at 401-435-7511.
Bristol will hold a fireworks show on July 3. The best place to watch is from the harbor, 259 Thames St. The time is 9:30 p.m. Rain date is July 5 at 9:30 p.m.

This is Rhode Island's most famous parade. It starts at 10:30 a.m. on July 4 at the corner of Hope and Chestnut streets. The fireworks go off the night before in Bristol Harbor.
Coventry is holding its Independence Day fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. The show is at Johnson's Pond and is sponsored by the Johnson's Pond Civic Association. For more information, click here.

Smithfield's Independence Day celebration is July 2 at Bulldog Stadium, Bryant University, 1150 Douglas Pike. The campus opens at 6 p.m. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. The Navy Band goes on at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks at 9. The rain date is Sunday July 8.

Newport is holding its Independence Day fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. on July 4. The best place to see the show is along Newport Harbor facing west. (Ground zero is near Wellington Avenue and Washington Street.) The rain date is July 5 at 9:15 p.m. The city's fireworks show is free.
On July 1 and July 4, the America's Cup 12 meter yachts, US 16 Columbia and US 23 Heritage, leave Newport harbor at 7:45 p.m. for a 2-hour sunset sail. The fireworks are the finale, and the price starts at $169 per person.
Portsmouth is holding its Independence Day fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. on July 4. The show is at Escobar's Farm , 133 Middle Road. It starts at 9:15 p.m.
Also, the Bristol parade is a short drive away over the Mount Hope Bridge.

Narragansett is throwing a big birthday bash for the U.S. on Independence Day. The Town's 4th of July Independence Day Beach Party starts around mid-day building sand castles with Sandtasia at the Town Beach, 39 Boston Neck Road. The party moves over to the North Beach Clubhouse for a concert with Brass Force from 5 to 7 p.m. Then at dusk, it's time for the fireworks.

South Kingstown celebrates Independence Day with a concert and fireworks on July 4. The party, which is at Old Mountain Field, 875 Kingstown Road, starts at 6 p.m. with music from "Take it to the Bridge." They're described as a "high-energy cover band from Southern Rhode Island playing hits you know and love." But everyone's invited to come early and enjoy the food concessions and the Field of Artisans. The fireworks start around 9 p.m. The $1 donation supports the event. Raffle tickets will also be on sale. Rain date is July 5 at 9 p.m.

Tiverton celebrates Independence Day with a reading of the Declaration of Independence. The reading, which the historical society organizes, happens July 4 at 9 a.m. by the World War I Doughboy statue at the Stone Bridge. The Town doesn't list its own fireworks display or Fourth of July parade, but Tiverton is close to all the July 4 action.
Bristol's big parade is nearby. For details, click here. So are the fireworks in Bristol on July 3, and in Portsmouth and Fall River, Mass., on July 4, The Fall River show is on the waterfront and visible from the parks (Heritage State and Bicentennial). Also, for a $10 ticket, people can watch the display from a seat on the Battleship Massachusetts. (No bags, coolers or weapons allowed.)

Woonsocket's annual Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration has been postponed to Thursday, July 5, at Barry Memorial Field. Festivities kick-off at 6:30 p.m. with a musical performance by local favorites Jeff Gamache and Runaway Train. The fireworks display follows the concert. It's expected to start at approximately 9 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the night's performances, the City said. In the event of rain, the concert and fireworks will be rescheduled for Thursday, July 5.
