Rhode Island continues to be lashed with heavy rain and strong winds on day two of a nor'easter pummeling Southern New England. While power outages have so far been minimal, downed trees and high surf have cause disruptions on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Thursday morning, the Block Island Ferry canceled all high-speed and traditional trips. Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the reservation office at 866-783-7996.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo's Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, usually a rain or shine event, is also canceled for Thursday night amid concerns over high winds and rain. On Wednesday night, the event was held, though Fairy Tale Nights were rescheduled to Oct. 22 and 29.

On Wednesday night, a downed tree closed Buttonwoods Road in Richmond near the intersection of Carolina Nooseneck Road. Crews were quickly called to the scene and the road was later reopened.

A wind advisory has been issued for all of Rhode Island until 6 a.m. on Friday. High winds could knock out power and bring down trees. If you see a tree pulling down a wire across a road, always assume it is live and do not attempt to drive under it.
