RI Weather: Strong To Severe T'Storms Possible This Afternoon

Scattered, severe thunderstorms are possible across much of the state throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

Unsettled weather is on the way in Rhode Island. Following another morning of sweltering, humid weather, scattered severe thunderstorms are possible across much of the state throughout Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service put most of the state under a yellow, or "slight" risk outlook for the afternoon, meaning scattered, severe thunderstorms are possible. Storms are expected to be short in duration and not widespread. The southern coast of the state and parts of the East Bay are at the least risk for severe weather.

Inland Massachusetts is at the most risk, at an orange or "enhanced" risk of storms that includes the northwest corner of Rhode Island.
