RIC Student Charged With DUI
Police said a traffic stop is made on a drunken driver after seeing his Nissan swerving. Narragansett police logs from April 20, April 21 and April 22, 2013.

RIC Student Charged With DUI
Matthew Rodrigues, 20, of 26 Howland St., Seekonk, MA, was arrested at about 2:07 a.m. on April 21 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police said Rodrigues is a student at Rhode Island College.

According to police, an officer traveling behind a brown Nissan Maxima on Point Judith Road near Wayne Street noticed the car drifting multiple times. As a result, a traffic stop was made near Jerry’s Hardware.
Police said the driver – Rodrigues – told them he was tired. However, police said his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and he smelled of alcohol.

According to police, Rodrigues failed field sobriety tests, at which point he was arrested and transported to headquarters.
Police said Rodrigues was upset at headquarters and repeatedly asked them for legal advice, but they said he declined multiple offers to use the telephone before refusing to submit to chemical breath tests.
According to police, Rodrigues was processed and then released later that morning after being arraigned by a justice of the peace.
Exeter Man Arrested for Warrant
Arron C. Richardson, 35, of 383 Slocum Road, Exeter, was arrested at about 6:39 p.m. on April 22. Police said a Third Division District Court warrant was out for his arrest.
According to police, an officer familiar with Richardson from previous arrests saw him walking on Green Kinyon Driftway. A check with a dispatcher confirmed that a warrant was out for Richardson’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing on April 8.
Police said Richardson was arrested on Durkin Drive without incident, processed and then released at about 9:45 p.m.
