RIPTA Bus Slides Off Snowy Road In Kingston

The bus got stuck at the top of a hill and was towed away, South Kingstown police said.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus slid off the road in Kingston Wednesday morning, police said. The bus became stuck at the top of a hill and had to be towed away.

The incident happened around 9:05 a.m. on Mooresfield Road near the intersection of Carrison Road, police said. The bus was unable to make it up the hill and became stuck. Eastbound traffic was temporarily stopped while a heavy-duty truck towed the bus away.

A photo taken at the scene shows the bus tipped slightly off the edge of the road.

No passengers were onboard the bus at the time, a RIPTA spokesperson said, and no injuries were reported. The bus was not damaged in the incident, the spokesperson added.
