Wakefield Man Charged With Possession of Marijuana, Alcohol
Roberto Albino Jr., 20, of 26 Paddy Hill Road, Wakefield, was arrested at about 1:33 a.m. on Dec. 27 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor, and cited for driving in possession of a controlled substance and transportation of alcohol by a minor.
According to police, an officer noted a silver Volkswagen driving on Old Tower Hill Road without its lights on. A traffic stop was made near Old Mountain Field.
Police said that while speaking with Albino, he and three passengers smelled strongly of marijuana. Albino told police that he had smoked earlier with them, and he gave police permission to search his car.
According to police, a backpack in the car had a mason jar with marijuana in it, and a backpack in the trunk of the car had a Bowie knife, an air soft gun, a digital scale, 44 plastic baggies and a six-pack of Natural Ice beer.
Police said the three passengers denied owning either of the backpacks, and as a result, Albino was arrested. He was processed at headquarters and then released at about 4:30 a.m.
