According to police, on Dec. 10 Engstrume modified his statement in relation to a breaking and entering case that occurred on Nov. 20 involving a minor and two others.

Police said that based on his new statement, Engstrume admitted driving the three to Gamestop in order to trade-in an Xbox 360 and games for cash.

Engstrume allegedly told police he then received a portion of the proceeds for gas money, and the cash was also spent on marijuana that all four smoked.

According to police, Engstrume was processed and then released. He was issued a court date of Jan. 3. Also, based on the modified statement, police charged a 14-year-old South Kingstown boy with felony breaking and entering on Dec. 13.

Providence Woman Charged With License Violation

Brandi L. Deniger, 22, of 13 Gillen St., Providence, was arrested at about 9:39 p.m. on Dec. 10 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer saw a black Ford Explorer driven by Deniger go through a red light near the Wakefield Mall. A traffic stop was made.

Police said Deniger immediately told them that she did not have a license, because it had been suspended in 2010. Police said a background check confirmed this, and an arrest was made.

According to police, Deniger was processed and then released later that night without incident.
