Wakefield Man Charged With DWI - 2nd Offense
A Wakefield man is charged with drunken driving, second offense, and a Narragansett woman allegedly writes seven bad checks, in logs from February 18, 19 and 20, 2013.

Wakefield Man Charged With Drunken Driving – Second Offense
John R. Guarino, 31, of 34 Arrowhead Trail, Wakefield, was arrested on Feb. 20 at about 2:09 a.m. and charged with drunken driving – second offense – and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

According to police, an officer following behind Guarino’s truck on Route 138 near Stony Fort Road clocked it at 60 miles per hour, and also noted it swerving. A traffic stop was made on Route 1.
Police said Guarino smelled strongly of alcohol, and told police, “I’m not going to lie. I’ve been drinking.”

According to police, Guarino failed an initial field sobriety test and then refused to cooperate further. He was arrested without incident and charged with drunken driving.
Police said that at headquarters, Guarino refused to submit to a chemical test. He was processed and then released at about 3:10 a.m.
Narragansett Woman Charged With Writing Seven Fraudulent Checks
Stephanie George, 43, of 48B Kingstown Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:22 p.m. on Feb. 19 and charged with seven counts of writing fraudulent checks
According to police, Rhode Island State Police arrested George based on a warrant issued by South Kingstown police for the checks. Police said George was picked up from the Wickford Barracks at about 3:50 p.m., processed and then released at about 4:42 p.m.
Police said the charges stem from seven bad checks written to Belmont Market on Dec. 3. The values range from $34.19 to $108.07.
