According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Route 1 near Moonstone Beach Road clocked a red Jeep Grand Cherokee at 71 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Succotash Road.

Police said that despite several requests, Brown refused to remove her hands from her pockets, or to provide police with her driver’s license, or to lower the windows of the Jeep so that police could confirm that she was the only occupant, or to move out of the roadway and on to the shoulder as they spoke with her. Brown allegedly told police that she was alone with her baby in the car.

According to police, after Brown continually refused to comply with instructions, she was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Police noted that while arresting Brown, two people attempted to leave the Jeep, but they were ordered back inside.

Police said that while being arrested, Brown said that she was going to sue and file charges because the officer had put their hands on a woman. Police said there were no active warrants out for the other two occupants of the Jeep that would explain Brown’s behavior.

According to police, Brown was processed at headquarters and then released at about 11 a.m. She was also cited for speeding.
