SK Police Searching For Grinch Who Stole $1,500 Tree

The blue spruce, which was at the entrance to the Broad Rock playing fields, was valued at around $1,500, police said.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — South Kingstown police are asking for the public's help in solving a rather grinchy theft in town. The department is trying to identify who is responsible for the theft of a blue spruce tree worth approximately $1,500 from a town property several weeks ago.

The 20 to 25-foot tree was growing at the entracne to the Broad Rock playing fields on St. Domenic road. Around 10 p.m. on Nov. 29, the tree was cut down and hauled away in a dark pickup truck.
