South Kingstown Emergency Services Collecting Toy Donations

The drive-through toy drive will be held at the Wakefield Mall over the weekend.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The South Kingstown emergency services are teaming up this weekend to collect toy donations. The donations will be donated to a local organization to help brighten the holidays for families in need.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the toy drive will be drive-through. Donations will be collected on Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Wakefield Mall at 160 Old Tower Hill Road. Donations of new, unwrapped toys or gift cards will be collected directly from cars. Residents are asked to stay in their car and wear a mask while donating.

"This year, with the ongoing pandemic still impacting all of our lives, it is more important than ever to help our friends and neighbors in any way we can," Fire Chief Steven Pinch said. "That is why it is important for us to be partnering with the Kingston Fire Department, South Kingstown Police Department and South Kingstown EMS for this toy drive. We encourage any resident who is able to donate to the drive to assist those in need this holiday season."
