SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Two state police dogs, troopers and South Kingstown officers caught a man who allegedly tried to break into a house. According to police, a juvenile called for help on Thursday around 12:16 p.m. and reported someone was trying to come through his bedroom window. He described a white man wearing sunglasses and a black shirt. The man had removed the bedroom window screen and was climbing inside. The juvenile, who was home alone, also showed police the direction where the man fled.
Police set up a perimeter and brought in a dog. The dog led them to 625 Shannock Road and signaled the suspect was inside. Officers tried to speak with the man but then obtained a search warrant. At that point, Sean Rosbottom, 26, surrendered.
"The juvenile victim positively identified Sean Rosbottom as the man who was attempting to break into his bedroom window," police said. He was charged with Attempted Breaking and Entering and is being held pending a court appearance.
