South Kingstown Police ID Drowning Victim
The investigation did not indicate foul play.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI -- South Kingstown police say the 78-year-old woman who died Tuesday in Larkins Pond had been swimming with her granddaughter before she needed medical help. Judith Barnett, of South Kingstown, died at South County Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 5:35 pm. According to the state medical examiner, the death is "consistent with drowning." No criminal investigation is underway.
Police said the grand daughter called a lifeguard for help.
