Sweenor's Chocolates was named the best chocolate shop in Rhode Island by Mental Floss magazine.
WAKEFIELD, RI — Sweenor's Chocolates has been named the best chocolate shop in Rhode Island. What started as a home-run business during World War II has become a booming business with stores in Cranston and Wakefield.
Mental Floss magazine named the chocolate shop in their ranking of the best chocolate shop in each state. Today, the shop is run by third- and fourth-generation confectioners Bill Sweenor and his son, Brian. Despite the expansion, the company stays true to its roots, using "only the freshest ingredients," no preservatives and sustainably-sourced chocolate.
Sweenors has shops at 21 Charles St. in Wakefield and Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston. Orders can also be placed online.
