According to police, an officer stopped at the intersection of Kingstown Road and Curtis Corner Road saw a blue Jeep SUV driven by Haverly run the red light, as well as a stop sign on Rodman Street. A traffic stop was made near Jennifer Drive.

Police said that when asked about her driving, Haverly admitted to running the red light and the stop sign, and allegedly said in response, “Come on, that’s a stupid stop sign.” Police noted that Haverly smelled of alcohol.

According to police, Haverly consented to three field sobriety tests, before stopping midway through the third and allegedly saying, “I’m done. I messed up bad.”

Police said Havely was arrested at this point without incident. Police said she refused to submit to a chemical test at headquarters, at which point she was processed and then released at about 3:35 a.m.

East Providence Woman Charged With License Violation

Nicola G. Gemma, 25, of 54 Sutton Ave., East Providence, was arrested at about 1 a.m. on April 14 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer traveling on Main Street near Kenyon Avenue ran the plate of a Toyota Corolla. A traffic stop was made near Hazard Street after the car’s registration came back as suspended.

Police said a background check of the driver – Gemma – revealed that her license had been suspended following a DUI charge in New Hampshire in February.

As a result, Gemma was arrested, processed at headquarters and then released at about 2:16 a.m. She was also cited for driving with a suspended car registration and driving without proper proof of insurance.
