URI Men's Basketball Team to Take Bow at Statehouse
The Rhode Island House and the Senate will honor the men's basketball team for winning the Atlantic 10 conference and advancing to the NCAA.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island House of Representatives and the Rhode Island Senate will honor the University of Rhode Island’s men’s basketball team Thursday for winning the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship for the first time in 18 years and for advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the Statehouse press office said.
On Thursday, March 30 at 4 p.m. in the House chamber of the State House, the team will be honored by House Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello (D-Dist. 15, Cranston) and the rest of the House of Representatives. Immediately following, the team will be led to the Senate chamber to be honored by Senate President Dominick J. Ruggerio (D-Dist. 4, North Providence, Providence) and the members of the Rhode Island Senate.
The team members will be accompanied by Coach Dan Hurley and URI President Dr. David Dooley.
