Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend

A South Kingstown woman is charged with felony assault after her boyfriend is treated for a stab wound. South Kingstown police logs from May 1 and May 2, 2013.

SK Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend

Ashley Marie Brennick, 22, of 597 Middlebridge Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 8:52 a.m. on May 2 and charged with domestic felony assault.

According to police, emergency personnel at South County Hospital reported that a 27-year-old South Kingstown man had been stabbed by an unknown person.

Police said that when the man and Brennick were questioned, both said someone had broken into their home, and stabbed the man. However, police said that after further questioning, Brennick confessed and said she had stabbed the man during an argument.

According to police, Brennick was arrested without incident and transported to headquarters. She was transported from headquarters at about 2 p.m. to be arraigned at Fourth Division District Court. Felony screening is scheduled for June 11.
