The legendary bakery and coffee stop is closing to “undergo state-mandated construction,” according to a post on the store’s Facebook page.
The unexpected announcement comes just days after Allie’s and Narragansett Beer just released a collaborative double chocolate porter beer.

Allie’s has posted a sign announcing that they’re undergoing construction and updates will come “as soon as we find out.”

The plan is to reopen before Halloween.
Allie’s Donuts is a household name in Rhode Island, known for its humble accommodations and known better for knockout donuts and their party-making donut cake that must be ordered in advance. A family-owned shop since 1968, loyal customers flock here beginning at 5 a.m. to collect donuts in their trademark white boxes with a red logo.
