Childhood Home of Alleged Boston Marathon Bomber Widow on the Market — Again

Asking price? $449,000.

The North Kingstown childhood home of Katherine Russell — the widow of Tamerlan Tsarnaev — is on the market again.

Located on a quiet street in the desirable Fletcher Estates neighborhood, this 3-bedroom, 2-and-a-half bathroom custom colonial was the scene of a mob of reporters and news vans for weeks after the Boston Marathon bombings last year.

Russell, who moved back home with her parents for a time after the events that rattled the nation, has been fodder for tabloids who remain transfixed on the life of the former North Kingstown High School student — both before and after meeting Tsarnaev, mothering his child and the terrorist acts in Boston last year.

The house was first put up for sale on the day of the bombings, which lawyers for the family said was a coincidence. It was re-listed this past March with an asking price of $449,000.

The house is listed with Coldwell Banker and offers nine rooms, a fireplace, 3,090 square feet of living space central air, gas heat and hot water and an estimated annual tax bill of $7,910.

Lawyers for Russell said she is not a target in the federal investigation into the bombings.

And for the residents of this peaceful neighborhood, the hope is the house will sell, a new family will move in and they can finally watch the spotlight that descended on their neighborhood move away.
