NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Kathleen Connerton, who nominated Julie Beebe. Beebe is a community volunteer and business owner who has been working to raise money at help those around her throughout the pandemic.

"Julie Beebe is a creative, compassionate, positive person who loves to serve her friends family and community," Connerton wrote. "She is ALWAYS volunteering her time and energy to organize and host events and FUNdraisers to benefit our community.
"When COVID-19 hit, our community began to shut down and shut in. Julie used to reach within the business community and social media to organize helpers to volunteer for the food pantry and also launched a Local Love logo & merch line to 'sell' the cause!"
