Enjoy Ice Cream Social with Lafayette Band Free Concert, July 10

St. John the Divine, Church Way, Saunderstown, will host the event.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will present a free outdoor concert on Wed., July 10, at 7 p.m. at St. John the Divine, Church Way, Saunderstown. An ice cream social will follow the performance. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Rain location is Church of Ascension, Wakefield.

Led by conductor Bethany Clarke Bromley, the band is performing free concerts each Wednesday this summer, through August 7. Remaining concerts will take place at the Lafayette Band Stand at North Kingstown Town Beach.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
