Goodbye To Motorcycle-Loving Mark "Mountain" Gaudet

From Cranston, Gaudet worked at NK's Razee Motorcycle Center for several years.

Mark Gaudet was killed Monday in a motorcycle accident on Scituate Avenue in Scituate. Although he lived in Cranston, Gaudet – known to many as simply "Mountain" – worked at Razee Motorcycle Center in North Kingstown for several years.

At first Gaudet was a customer, then he started working at the store, Gordon Razee told the Providence Journal Wednesday.

He was quiet but had a good sense of humor, Razee said.

"If one didn’t meet Mountain in person, you would think I am making him up. No, he was all too real. He would have fit in perfectly on WKRP in Cincinnati or News Radio. In fact, some of their characters might have even been based on him.

Mountain also loved riding motorcycles, naming his bikes “Purple Passion” or “Ruby Red” and giving the female staffers rides throughout the city. And today, he died riding one of his beloved bikes."

Rest in peace, Mountain.
