Happy Mother’s Day To Kriss Auger
"Even though we are usually miles apart, you always know how to make me feel better."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Emily Auger's letter to her mom:
Dear Mom,
I don’t think I have really understood a normal mother-daughter relationship, because we have never been normal. From the start, you gave Jim and I room to grow, with structure but not strictness, and a whole lot of love.
When I was younger I used to get really defensive when someone said we looked alike, because none of my other friends looked like their moms as much as I looked like you. As I grew though, I became so appreciative of the unusual relationship that we have. You are the first person I want to talk to in any situation whether it be good or bad, and although I don’t always take your advice, I always need it.
Even though we are usually miles apart, you always know how to make me feel better. You are my best friend and the coolest person I know, and I never hesitate to brag about how awesome my mom is. Now when anyone tells me I look like my mom, I smile and ask if they want to see more pictures of how scarily similar we are. I love you, Mom and could not imagine my life without you.
