NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Local fire personnel reported the crews were responding to a possible HAZMAT situation in North Kingstown on Thursday morning. The crews responded to what one report said was "a possible ammonia leak" at 320 Commerce Way.

ABC6-TV reported that 13 people were brought to the hospital due to an ammonia leak in the freezer system at Taylor Farms. More than 600 people were evacuated from the business that makes sandwiches for vending machines.

Crews responded to the building at about 9:45 and left the scene about noon.
