MALONEY, JEAN F. (MOON), 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Grand Islander in Middletown. She was the loving wife of the late Clyde E. Maloney. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Lillian (Rice) Moon.
Jean worked as a first mate on a charter fishing boat for four summers during her younger years. She was employed by the North Kingstown School Department as a teacher for 40 years before retiring from Forest Park Elementary School. Jean was an avid reader and travelled the world. She loved tennis, fast cars, and animals, especially owls.
Jean was the beloved mother of Denise Olerio and her husband, Al of North Kingstown; devoted grandmother of Corey Olerio, Alexis Olerio, and Adam Olerio; great-grandmother of Avery Moon Olerio; caring sister of Gail Buffi of Saunderstown and the late David Moon of Burlington, VT; aunt of Leigh Carney, Steve Moon, Danielle Moon, and Heather Beaton.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2019 from 8-10 am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. A private burial service will follow in the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Pet Refuge, NKEAPL, 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
