Lafayette Band concert, NK fireworks rescheduled to July 5
Due to the weather, the celebration is postponed until Monday. The concert kicks off the band's weekly schedule of free summer performances.
With rain taking over the area, the town of North Kingstown has postponed its traditional Independence Day celebration from July 3 to July 5.
With better weather forecast for Monday, the Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will perform a free concert at the N.K. Town Beach at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. Director Bethany Clarke Bromley will lead a program of patriotic music, classics and popular themes from TV, cinema and theater. Admission is free. Audience members should bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.
The concert also opens the band's 2021 Summer Concert Series, with free performances each Wednesday through August 4. Click here for the schedule.
