Lafayette Band's summer finale set for August 7

The program will begin at 7 p.m. with the theme "Stage & Screen," featuring familiar hits from TV, Hollywood and Broadway.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will close out its summer concert series at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at the Lafayette Band Stand, North Kingstown Town Beach, Beach St., off Rt. 1A. The program theme will be "Stage & Screen," featuring familiar hits from TV, Hollywood and Broadway.

The musicians are led by conductor Bethany Clarke Bromley. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the Community Center at the Town Beach.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
