Supreme Court Denies Firefighter Motion
The Town of North Kingstown versus the North Kingstown Fire Fighters was dealt with in two courts Thursday, when the state Supreme Court denied an emergency motion by the NK fire fighters and Superior Court Judge Stern set up a "briefing schedule" on other, connected issues. The fundamental issue in the cases in both courts was the town's unilateral implementation of a 24-hour shift schedule and decrease in pay for the fire fighters.
