A donation box at the North Kingstown Animal Hospital to benefit the Pet Refuge was stolen Sunday evening by a man who can be seen on surveillance video walking in, waiting at the counter for a few seconds, then picking up the box and leaving.

Data, data and more data – that's the name of the game halfway through the town's community market analysis. Representatives of the firm hired to carry out the analysis, 4Ward Planning, presented their findings so far at a meeting Wednesday of the town's Economic Development Advisory Board.

NK Bakers Return From Pillsbury Bake0ff Unribboned But Happy

Mary Jo LaRocca had a killer Sausage, Apple & Brie Stromboli and Nancy Fahey had classic Almond Cafe Cookies. Both North Kingstown women made it all the way to the Pillsbury Bakeoff finals in Las Vegas with recipes they submitted to the annual contest. Neither came home the grand prize winner (which was a cool $1 million) but they sure did NK proud by getting so far.

NK's Sarah Andrews Named RIIL Student Athlete Of Month

Sarah Andrews is a junior at North Kingstown High School, a member of the Girls Soccer, Swim, and Track teams at North Kingstown High School. She holds an annual fundraiser to benefit the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County. Over the past few years, her events raised over $3,000.

Police Log: Car Thefts, Missing Boat & More Shoplifting

Saturday, Nov. 9, 12:12 p.m. – The owner of Wickford Antiques Estate Liquidators on Ten Rod Road told police one of the two large cast iron urns that sit in front of his store went missing overnight. The urn is approximately 4 feet tall, weighs 450 pounds, and is valued at $2,200.

That Land Cleared Off Post Road? 20 Houses Planned

If you've traveled on Post Road north of Wickford Village lately, you've probably noticed the tract of land that's been cleared of trees behind the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce building. It's the future home of Harbor View Estates, a 20-home housing development that will indeed, at least for those homes higher up on the slope, have harbor views.

Sprigs Branches Out, Opens 2nd Shop In Wickford

Janice O’Connell and her husband Tom usually go out to eat on Main Street in EG, but in early October, they ventured down to Wickford’s Tavern by the Sea. And, while there, they happened to see a “for rent” sign right next door. The space is between the restaurant and The World Store.
