Local man sentenced for child molestation

On Fri, Feb 7, 2020, Matthew Johnson, 23, of North Kingstown pled no contest to 2 counts of 2nd degree child molestation of a minor under 14 years old. He was sentenced to 15 years with 5 to serve at the ACI. I know because he raped my twins, his godsons, repeatedly over many years. My boys are nine now and fine with me sharing their story, especially if it helps other kids. They want you to know that you should talk to your kids "even about the stuff that makes you feel weirs." And if something like this did happen to you or your child, they say, "Don't be ashamed. He should be ashamed because of what he did. Not you."I say there's lots of support out there. Get some help. Don't stay silent.
