Meet Gianna: Pet Of The Week
Ginna came to Pet Refuge as a stray some years ago. She's blossomed into a sweet, sassy girl.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI—Say hello to this weeks' Pet of the Week, our sweet little Gianna -or as her close friends refer to her, “G.” Gianna was found very sickly years ago and brought to the Pet Refuge as a stray. Her now long luscious fur was lacking, and she was very malnourished. With a little bit of TLC she blossomed into a sweet, sassy girl and quickly became a favorite among staff and volunteers. Baby G is around twelve years old now, but she’d like you to know age is just a number.
Though Gianna has a healthy vet check she does have hyperthyroidism and requires regular check ups to make sure her thyroid stays at a normal level. She is prescribed a 5 mg tablet of methamizole (which is very inexpensive) twice daily. and she takes it mixed in her food without any issue. She loves to be fed and fussed over. If you’re looking for the perfect lap cat- look no further than this little lady. The Pet Refuge will supply the first six months of her medication to whomever would like to take her home. For more information on Gianna or any of our other adoptables, contact the staff at 401-294-1115 or stop by the shelter at 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown.
