Dare to Educate Afghan Girls: Shabana Basij Rasikh, co-founder of the School of Leadership Afghanistan (SOLA), a boarding school that provides educational opportunities for a new generation of Afghan women, will speak at Salve Regina in Newport Wednesday evening. During college, Shabana founded HELA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Afghan women through education. She currently serves as the National Gender Mainstreaming Advisor at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Kabul. 7 p.m. at the Bazarsky Lecture Hall.
