NK Man Sentenced To Year For Domestic Offenses

Keith Mongillo, 35, is ordered to serve a year at the ACI after pleading no contest to repeatedly violating a no-contact order.

Keith Mongillo, 35, of 60 Georgia Ave., North Kingstown, pleaded no contest on March 8 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of violating a no-contact order.

Mongillo was ordered to serve a year at the ACI, retroactive to Oct. 31, 2012, followed by four years probation and a four-year suspended sentence. Mongillo was also ordered to pay $575 in assessments and to complete domestic abuse counseling.

In return for his plea, an additional Cranston police charge of violating a no-contact order was dismissed.

According to North Kingstown police reports included in court files, in March 2012 the victim picked up children she shares in common with Mongillo from a relative’s home.

The woman told police that at that time, Mongillo confronted her outside about money, and then called her 12 times on her cell phone. Logs of the calls were included in court files.

Mongillo was arrested in South Kingstown on Oct. 31 after allegedly making contact with the victim again, and trying to run her off the road. For details of that incident, click here.

All of Mongillo’s charges were elevated to felonies because of previous pleas to domestic offenses. According to online records, Mongillo has four previous arrests:

  • In May 2012, two Cranston police charges of violating a no-contact order against Mongillo were dismissed.
  • In January 2012, Mongillo pleaded no contest to two Cranston police charges of violating a no-contact order. He was ordered to serve 10 days at the ACI, followed by a 355-day suspended sentence, domestic abuse counseling and a mental health program.
  • In December 2011, Mongillo pleaded no contest to a Cranston police charge of domestic assault. He was ordered to serve a year of probation and a year-long suspended sentence. After violating terms of his probation, Mongillo was ordered to serve 210 days at the ACI.
  • Also in December 2011, Mongillo pleaded no contest to a Cranston police charge of violating a no-contact order. He was ordered to serve a year at the ACI, and to complete domestic abuse counseling and batterers’ intervention.

Based on an ACI inmate search, Mongillo is scheduled to be released on Sept. 21, assuming he qualifies for a reduced sentence for good behavior.
