"No Spoken Word" - A Special Art Display Exhibit at NKHS
Wednesday, December 4 there will be a special viewing of artwork by some very talented artists from North Kingstown High School.
On Wednesday, December 4th at North Kingstown High School, there will be a special art exhibit for public viewing. The title of the exhibit is "No Spoken Word." Student artists have completed projects in a wide range of mediums - self portraits, sculptures, drawings, ceramics, and more - and a few select were chosen to be included in this exhibit. Mrs Janice Strain, a Visual Arts teacher at North Kingstown High School, is the coordinator of the event. She has invited the public and writes in a recent email to parents "the best way to enjoy the artwork is to view in person."
The artwork included in "No Spoken Word" is located in a special section of the cafeteria and will be available for viewing by students and parents for November and December, during select times and hours. According to Mrs Strain, "many of these pieces will participate in competitions as well as tour throughout the state."
On a personal note, I am so proud that my son, Griffin, was selected to participate in this art exhibit. Griffin works tirelessly on his craft of drawing, animation, and illustrations. He has a wonderful passion for art and I am so thankful for Mrs Strain and the Art Department for encouraging and rewarding the hard work of artists, like my son, with these public viewings and events. Griffin, like the other students in "No Spoken Word" has a special talent and an amazing eye for creativity. I applaud all of the artists selected for this special viewing.
